Antique photos of armor (and a bit of babbling)
Sir James A:
Pardon the background scenery and the "confused templar" wearing 14th century plate armor, I took the picture a couple months back when I got my legs and arms from Allan and surcoat from BJ and decided to "play dress up" while nobody was looking. :)
I thought I'd toy around a bit with the photo to give it an antique (or what the hipsters call "retro") look. Sort of like those "sci fi photoshopped into historical pictures" things, but as a "what photos could have looked like if they had cameras in the medieval period". Once I get some good photos of myself in kit, I'm planning to make a small photo gallery of it. My uncle recently got a book published of his photos ... maybe if this goes well, and there's enough interest, we can do some Order of the Marshal photo shoots of us in harness, both candids and "in action" doing some WMA plays, and could publish it. We could put proceeds (if we get any :D) towards supplying garters to new members and/or server rental fees, etc. Just thinking out loud, and rambling. Oh yeah, pictures.

Oh, I definitely want to do some photo shoots with us. We need to have some nice gatherings in a park or something when the weather supports it, so we can do photo shoots in natural surroundings (rather than surrounded by renfaire patrons).
I have to admit, a part of me really wants to look into DSLR cameras. But man, the money. I could get an Albion instead. :)
My current camera is pretty top-of-the-line as far as point-and-shoots go. But I'd have to give you guys some coaching to coax good photos out of it for when we hand the camera around. That's true of any camera, of course.
The biggest enemies of good photos are proper lighting, and framing/angle. A lot of the rest can be fixed later in photoshop, but there's only so much you can do if the lighting was crap or the shot was taken from a poor vantage point.
Sir William:
The sword looks a little later than Templar era as well, but I like the overall presentation. Can't go wrong with a cross on one's chest! I used a generic program to do a retro look for a couple of my shots from MDRF, it is a good look. I'd love for us to be able to do a photoshoot...last time we all got together, we were so excited everyone just plain forgot. LOL

Sir Brian:
Those look cool! 8)
