Sir James has got the right idea. None will say a thing, even with 15th century hosen, simply with the addition of a mere polearm of ones choice ;)

Yes, I've found it useful to say something like "Be careful what you say to the one holding the weapon."

Or just tell them you needed the extra space and give them the time to figure it out. lol
