De Rodes during the 12th to late 13th centuries

(1/7) > >>

Sir Gerard de Rodes:
At long last, as promised, here are a few photo`s of some of my earlier, maille based, armour outfits. 12th century Crusader to late 13th century knight. ( Photo bucket has uploaded them in reverse order lmao  :o )
Before all the comments roll in......yes I know there are a few bits missing, and a few bits that maybe don`t work, but you get the overall look.
As I don`t do any earlier than mid 14th century any more, I sold alot of my earlier items of kit, e.g. Leather gauntlets, Wisby style gauntlets etc etc. ( I`m beginning to regret it now  ::) )

Sir Wolf:
wow cool!!!!!

awesome pictures

Sir Edward:

Looking great! I love the painted helm. We just don't see too many of those (either painted, or those pre-great-helm crusades helmets).

Sir Brian:
The variations of your 12th ~ 13th centuries harnesses are excellent Sir Gerard! Thank you for sharing them with us and continuing to be a great inspiration for us all!  :)

Thanks, Sir Wolf. I wanted to take them in a historic setting but grew too impatient so the living room had to do.

Yes Sir Ed, I`ve always liked the intimidating look of the pot helms, and they are relatively inexpensive to buy. The group I used to be with, specialised in the 13th century so encouraged this style of helm. A chap in the group made both of my pot helms for £40 each.
