Opening weekend MDRF

Sir William:
Sir Brian, I have heard that those Shout! inserts (detergent) work wonders in 'fixing' bled-over garments.  Read it somewhere...think it was on AA maybe?

Sir Brian:
hehe, I believe it was actually on this forum it was discussed Sir William and I tried a couple of times with several of those sheets each time with each one resulting in even more bleed over. Fortunately though my wife used a diluted mixture of bleach and got nearly all of it out, so I'll have to hand wash it from now on. Curious thing was that the inner liner is white linen under the white silk and the green didn't bleed onto the linen, just the silk. - Perhaps because it is raw silk, it is more susceptible to the dye? I intend to conduct an experiment with a couple of scrap pieces of green silk and white linen to see if it will bleed onto the linen, if not then I'll get one last surcoat made and forgo having the seamstress use the white silk! I will also see if she could make the griffon a little bigger like the one on my shield.  ;)

SirNathanQ:
This weekend is out, as BJ will be doing further modifications, tweaks to make the kit a bit more maille-friendly.

It looks like there will be some scattered storms this weekend. Sunday is the slightly nicer day, as it's not supposed to hit 80, and should have slightly less rain overall. So I'm thinking Sunday is the armor day, and Saturday is the day to be more comfortable.

Sunday looks like the day for me. Both my parents and parents-in-law are vying for us to spend the day with them saturday. :)

Sir Brian:
A couple of familar faces here!
