(1/1)
Sir Wolf:
today i found more pieces to my deceased fathers US Navy uniforms.
A long time ago we had a flood in our previous family basement. at the time all of his uniforms were soaked molded and thrown away etc. except for his hat and a few ribbons.
well, the other day my mom was looking in an antique cracker box and found his khaki dress jacket. then we got to looking in her ceder chest and found a few pairs of khaki shirts, pants; white shirts and 1 pair of white pants; 1 pair of navy pants and a navy tie. we also found a few white belts and 1 khaki belt.
i have his overseas bag, laundry bag, and ditty bags too.
the only thing I have to buy for his khaki uniform is a khaki hat cover and black shoes and tie. I am super happy over our finds today!!
Sir Edward:
That's awesome! It's great finding hidden treasure like that.
Sir Patrick:
Nice finds! It's always cool when stuff like that happens!
Sir William:
Love it man...every now and again I go digging thru my Mom's antique room...a lot of old stuff haphazardly thrown in during the first move and no one's gotten around to sorting it out. There's old radios and phonographs (huge) from the early 20th, assorted wood oddments- I found my armor chest in there; it was built in 1881, by Thomas Sharp of Gallowgate, Glasgow, Scotland, for his son John. Eventually, it found its way to America, in possession of Thomas' sister, Joan, my great-great Aunt on my Mom's side...eventually finding its way to me. Pretty cool, huh?
Sir James A:
Congrats. That's quite a bit more than I expected, at best I thought maybe a shirt or a piece or two. You found a whole haul!
