Gauntlets - Where to find Bifurcated Gauntlets?

<< < (2/3) > >>

Thorsteinn:
Have you asked Eric of Zweihammer armoury or Jackie of Shamrock armoury? What about Icefalcon?

Sir Gerard de Rodes:
These look like a great compromise between fingered and mitten gauntlets.......Is there any historical reference to their use??

Sir James (Fiat Lux):
Talk about obscure! Doing a search for Bifurcated Gauntlets pulls up this very thread as the third result!

As for historical context, they were apparently used around the 15th century, most notably by Charles V of Spain.

Sir Rodney:
Have you tried posting on the Armour Archive?  There's lots of SCAdians over there and some of them may have combat experience with bifurcated gauntlets.

(edit to add)

I would also try the myArmoury forum.  Many very experienced and knowledgeable people post there.

James Barker:
Jiří Klepač made a pair and his work is fantastic. I don't screw around when it comes to hand protection and I would trust his work:

If I was going to buy a pair this is who I would go to.
