I thought I'd rekindle the discussion of Chess.
Sir Cliff posted on facebook the image of a circular 3-man chess board. I've managed to locate the site with the rules for it:
http://www.3manchess.com/index.html
But apparently other forms of 3-player chess have been around for centuries, with the more common variants described here:

All sorts of other variations have been experimented with. Maybe one of these days we need to have a game-day and get together and play some nice strategy board games. :)

That looks a little complicated, but I used to play regular chess a lot. I had "Battle Chess" on the PC. Played the same as regular chess, except capturing a piece was an animated battle. The Knight vs Knight was just like the "Black Knight" from Monty Python.
Second "battle" here:
Sir Wolf:
i so remember battle chess!!! that was fun. they need an updated version hehehe
Sir Edward:
I used to love Battle Chess. :) I was never very good at defeating computer opponents back then, until I started playing Battle Chess... and then you could pick up on ways to "trick" the computer player, and it would always fall for the same tricks. :)
Ian:
Battlechess was the best! I remember being so disappointed when I got chessmaster 2000 or whatever it was called for NES and it had no cool death scenes like battlechess, which I believe I may have had on commodore...
