Sir Gerard de Rodes:
Sir Ancelyn, Bodium is a fantastic castle  ;) ;)

James, I may have mentioned it on here (once or twice lol) but Beaumaris Castle is probably my favourite so if it`s not too far from your chosen rout it`s well worth a visit;

A good look through the above site will also inspire you I`m sure.

There are also a few nice castles on the Marches of Wales that wouldn`t be too far from any journey up the middle of the country, such as Ludlow Castle;    http://www.ludlowcastle.com/
    and Stokesey Castle; http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/stokesay-castle/

Sir James A:
Sir Ancelyn & Sir Gerard,

I added them to the list to check out and re-map.

The link for Stokesay threw a virus warning and aborted the connection - I'm running Firefox with AdBlockPlus, too. I couldn't postpone my curiosity and had to click the links - and the network admin was not too thrilled. Seems they may have been hacked.

Sir Gerard de Rodes:
James,

Please accept my most humble apologies if that link caused problems, it seemed fine when I accessed it.

Try this one at the Castle Wales site;

No apology necessary, I just wanted to make sure nobody else clicked on it until I've checked it out some more.

It's looking to be a "false positive"; within minutes of my clicking on it, a couple other people in the office started getting warnings for no reason, including our internal websites, yahoo, google, youtube, and more. A machine scan showed no virus, and the network admin decided to move to a less obtrusive a/v solution - apparently this one thought some files on a few machines were infected (a while back), and decided to quarantine them - rendering the machine unbootable - and was again a false positive, as the machines scanned as clean.

I'll check it at home (I have the same antivirus) and see if it throws any alerts.

Sir Edward:

Just keep in mind that a clean scan only proves that nothing was detected, not that there's no virus. Almost every new exploit or virus hits somebody before it gets added to all the AV products out there. :)
