Yeah, it does take time. I think mine didn't pass until the following spring, after registering them at Pennsic in August. Seven or eight months sounds about right. I think I did mine in 2008, so it's pretty recent.

I was super lucky. Mine went through on the first shot, which is hard to do with swords and/or dragons, since they're so commonly chosen.

Even a simple uncontested name change takes 8 months.


Edit: This last line is about me going from 'Ivan Ivanovitch Serebrenikov" to "Torsteinn Raudskeggr". There have been about 6 Torsteinn's in the SCA and none close to my name, but the bureaucratic wheels still turn slow.

He speaks the painfull truth.  My name and arms are still not registered after four submissions.  :o

Lord Rodney: do try to be patient, why not email them to see if it is going through the process?  That should should help.
