Excellent story about what the pilot and airlines did. My heart and prayers go out to the surviving family of that little boy.

I love hearing about happenings like this...it is good to know that the entire world hasn't become desensitized to individual loss.  I cringe every time I hear the terms 'collateral damage' or 'acceptable loss'...by using either of those two terms, thousands of lives could be the topic of conversation  but they are wrongfully minimized like this to make the emotional and psychological impact much less, more bearable if you will.

That pilot is still in touch with his humanity...refreshing since everywhere I look, I see the opposite becoming the norm.

Part of the story that makes me happy is that Southwest didn't fire the pilot for failing to keep schedule. I'm going to see if we can take Southwest when we go to England later this year. Always good to support that kind of employer.
