Title: New Suspenders for Chausses
Post by: Silvanus on 2010-10-23, 20:23:30
Hi Gentlemen -

Here are some pics of the suspenders I fashioned for my chausses. I wore them all day at home and sword practice. And then had to rake leaves. :(

You can press on the pics to expand them a bit.

Two long straps over the shoulders, obviously. Two small straps across the chest as well as one across the back to ensure that the straps don't slide off the shoulders.

The chausses are attached front and back with white leather straps.

I'll have Gaby take some pics while I dress for the Faire tomorrow, so you can see how it looks.

Nice solution!  More comfortable than a belt, not as hot as a purpoint.

i like it. i tied my chausis last year to my pourpoint fronts and it dragged it down. i like how they attach on yours. how is sitting?

Sitting has the possibility of being problematic.

LOL

I mean that sitting is okay, you just need to get back up more slowly to give the suspenders a chance to realign themselves.

Well done, Silvanus...I'm sorry I missed you yesterday!  Would've liked to see these in action.
