Hah, pretty cool. I never seem to spot movie props on ebay. Then again, I only have the auto-search set to notify my of Del Tins and Albions. :)

not a bad price. i don't like the welded brim. but with some flair around the weld you'd never see it.

Maybe we should put ebay finds here in one thread. Since they go away quickly, it could easily clutter up the topic list. I think they had the right idea on myArmoury to have one thread for it. :)

You do NOT want to deal with any of those companies selling out of India. I purchased a helm
from them a little over a year ago and the entire ordeal was an absolute nightmare!
Numerous e-mail attempts to get them to even ship the helm to me. Then the helm was
not as advertised...Generally an unpleasant experience.  :(

Oh man, sorry to hear that! But that's good to know. I'm always dubious about ordering overseas anyway, unless it's a known reputable seller (amongst the circles I'd trust anyway).

Of course, buying armour in general can be a real nightmare sometimes. A lot of custom armorers will take 3 times as long as they estimate, and then cut and run at some point. It's one of the unfortunate side effects of having a niche market filled with hobbyists and very few mass produced items of quality.

Hey check out this ebay store. I was considering the mail gauntlets and noticed the
prices on the helms!

It looks like some of those helms might be undersized. Still, gotta love the cheap prices!

Those gaunts look pretty affordable.

Sweet sallet and bevor combo! :) I still prefer having one with an articulated aventail
on the back with plenty of drop to protect the vertebrae, etc.
Valentine Armouries turned out some very cool custom stuff at one time. :D

Shame on you, Sir Brian! You're downing transactions from India, and
thats exactly where the maille link was from that you sent me to! Lol!
Actually, I had an armor company from here in Texas 5 yrs ago that took me
for 1100. U.S. Company called Armourworks and they got a s**tload of
cash from a LOT of good people.... :(

Caveat emptor my friend ;)
I would have to carefully consider any purchase from a company out of india even
though their prices are VERY tempting. Still, how badly could someone screw up
riveted mail?
It was much different then my bad experience when they advertised that the helm I
purchased was full size and wearable...except it was wearable ONLY if you happened
to be a bobblehead!  :D

The thing was ridiculously huge!

Wow, you're one of the ones that lost out to them? I'm very sorry to hear that. I was among the last few to actually get armor from them, I think, before they packed up and vanished. The plate armor you see in my avatar pic is from ArmourWorks. Considering I was out of work when it finally arrived, I'd have been truly heartbroken if they had stiffed me.

Not bad. Kult of Athena has several Del Tin models these days that are in the low $300 range, so I'm eying these with that in mind, even if they're not the same models. I tried bidding on another one this weekend, and let it go when it broke past $300.

I've put up a few items myself. I finally decided to try selling my older display-katanas. I'll be selling more before long, I'm sure, but this is a good start...

Someone is already re-selling an Albion Dane (they just came out). The price is of course less than the current price for one new... but if I had to guess, I'm assuming the person reserved it a long time ago at a lower price, and is re-selling it to make a profit. :)
