Where do any of you buy wool? I'm in need of a very small quantity of brown wool and I can't seem to find any in stores, and online purchases seem to have a minimum quantity requirement.

For mute colors sometimes you can find it in upholstery outlet stores...that is where I get mine :)

Check to see if you have a retail / wholesale fabric warehouse in your area. I’m fortunate to have SR Harris (http://www.srharrisfabric.com/index.html) in my area. My mind is blown every time I walk into this warehouse!

Here in the Phoenix Arizona area we have SAS Fabrics. I hear from the ladies around that people come from all over the country to shop there, because they get remnants from popular fashion designers or somesuch. Just a few weeks ago I found a blue velvet there that was perfect for the new Cluny belt I'm making. I also found a great wool for heraldic charges, some cotton for the padding in my new pourpoint, and some trim for my lady's handbag. It was like 8 yards of fabric. Kind of awkward riding back to work after my lunch hour on my motorcycle with that giant bag of fabric stuffed between the handlebars, but hey, a good deal on fabric... kinda sounds a bit uh... non-macho. Or maybe just weird. :))
