Title: marriage of an old knight
Post by: Sir Gerard de Rodes on 2012-11-03, 03:04:06
Brethren, I thought it about time that I informed you of the forthcoming marriage of myself and the good lady Joanna.
We are to be wed in a little known 15th/16th century castle in Cheshire, called Leasowe Castle on the 23rd day of February 2013.

I really wish that I could invite each and every one of you honored gentlemen, but the distance is far too great.
Having lived together for many years, we are very much still in love, and have recently become grand parents to young Harry ( I hope he will become squire Harry de Rodes before long).

Please wish us luck on the next part of our journey.
If we have your blessings my dear friends, I will propose a toast to you all during the wedding speeches.

G.

Good Sir,

We have never met, but the prospect of your future happiness with Lady Joanna has nevertheless brought a smile to my face. Blessings indeed to you and yours and during all the forthcoming festivities.

Congratulations Sir Gerard!  We will be there in spirit!  (oh, and totally jealous that you get to have your ceremony in a castle!! :) )

Congratulations and Huzzah to you both, Sir Gerard! I am honored to offer my blessing to you both. We will of course be there with you in spirit.

(oh, and totally jealous that you get to have your ceremony in a castle!! :) )

Quite so!

Enjoy the anticipation, and remember that marriage is the doorway that opens up a new chapter of your life, not individually as Sir Gerard and Lady Joanna, but as a union of Lord and Lady. Having taken that plunge a few years ago myself - it is every bit as great as they say it is!

Marriage is like a well-made sword.....if made just right, it has a good balance... if too heavy on either end, you lose grip or have a strong handle of it. :)

Congratulations to you, my friend! May your marriage me long and fruitful.

Slightly Off-topic: I would want to get married in a castle myself, but unfortunately the only man-made things older than 250 years in Australia are painted sticks. >__<
Oh well. That's another benefit of moving to Europe, right? :)

Well, there's a fix for that. Build your own castle. :)

When I find a woman gracious enough to accept me as husband I would like to get married somewhere like the top of Mount Rose, NV  or Squaw Valley, CA myself.  :)

Sir Gerard, you and Lady Joanna have the benefit of having already had years in which to know and love one another, this is just a logical (and emotional) advancing step toward maintaining your shared future.  Marriage is a wondrous thing, when two people who are meant to be together do in fact find one another.  As we all know, this is not always the case.

By the grace of God I pray you two have the best of the best- many more years of happiness and contentment, to watch your children and grandchildren and raise them up to the fine standards that you and your Lady have set.  God bless you and yours, Brother.

Brethren, Ladies and gentlemen, Lady Joanne and I finally tied the knot on Saturday.
The whole day went perfectly and without a hitch.

Allow me to point out that Sir Gerard was married in a castle, just to renew the envy in some of us. :)

Nicely done, Sir James- and that should not be forgotten, either.  lol
