I signed up for it. It looks to be similar to mount and blade warband cept with better graphics. I was addicted to that game for a long while and wish it worked on my computer which it doesnt anymore.
-
I tried to sign up but it wouldn't take my email.
-
What's it cost? We should try to get some teams together.
-
Definitely interested in it!
-
Ditto, looks like it's gonna be a good game
-
I don't think it took my email address either...but this looks COOL. Closest thing I played was Bladestorm and that was just a redressed Dynasty Warriors...great fun, just that this looks more in tune with what I wanted initially.

Steam is advertising War of the Roses for 20% off if you already own any Mount and Blade title, which I think a lot of you might. Roses will be released on Oct 2.
-
I'm going to try and sign up from home...keep geting a weird error when I try it from work.
-
I got accepted into the beta, the problem? Well it only can run on Vista and up no XP so I cant even play it.

Vista has newer graphics API that makes game development easier - but heads up, Vista is junk. If anything, go straight to Windows 7.
-
Will it work with Win7? I agree, Vista's a resource hog, not good for much of anything. For all our machines that had Vista, we offered the option of a downgrade to XP- most took it.

Vista and Win7 are the same architecture, it'll work with it. My gaming rig is set up with Windows 7, and has been for a few years. No problems. Last I heard, WinXP will not be getting any more DirectX updates, which means it will fade out as a potential gaming machine on any new games. Win7 does fine for gaming on my machine, the latest I've played is Diablo III though.

XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, which means they aren't building anything for it and if yours goes the way of the dodo, you'll need to cruise their online forums for tips and tricks.
My wife's laptop is Win7, my old tower's XP...since my wife uses her Kindle Fire for just about everything including reading, wonder if I could appropriate her laptop for this? :)

I pre-ordered on Steam. Since I own a Mount and Blade game I got a % off and it was only like $23 to buy War of the Roses. It grants you early access too. It unlocks on Steam on Oct 2nd I believe. Early access should begin next week then, because that Oct 2 date is the official release date. But for $23 on Steam, it's worth a shot!
