Title: Custom Sword by Badger Blades
Post by: Sir William on 2012-03-08, 21:47:00
That's what the advert says...one of the uglier swords I've set eyes on.

That crossguard and pommel isn't my cup of tea, but I like the beefy, intimidating look of that blade. It's odd he says the sword is 2 1/2 feet .. that's 30", putting it in the realm of a short sword / side sword. Good discount for something with a lifetime warranty, if anyone wanted to get it to hack at trees and bushes ... which is all I randomly consider those swords good for.

Don't forget that they are excellent anvil slayers!  ;)

Yeah, it's a decent price considering what they go for at Badger's booth. But they don't hold much interest for me anymore, now that I've moved on to swords that are more historically correct, and optimized for cutting people rather than anvils and cinder-blocks. :)

One of the reasons I posted it is because in looking at this offering, I am reminded of how far I've come w/regard to swords, which Sir Edward commented on for himself.  There was once a time where I believed the hype and did not realize the loss that came with it.  Yes, you could cut into steel trashcans and car doors- but that thing only looks like a sword, it was not what I ultimately wanted.
