Title: Summer Rennfairs
Post by: SirNathanQ on 2011-07-11, 18:51:33
Hello all, so are there any fairs or other locations for us to conquer before MDRF season rolls around?

PARF opens about a week before MDRF usually. Not sure if that's the case this year. Otherwise we're in the summer lull.

I just returned from the Sterling Ren Faire in Sterling NY. Had some beautiful armor weather on Saturday. 77 degrees with winds 5-10 mph from the n-nw. Sunday was a bit warmer in the mid 80's with some humidity but was fine to still wear my leather hood with the kilt. :)
There is 6 more weekends left to go I believe. The Great Lakes Medieval Fair started this past weekend as well, that will go until mid August. Both Faires are great with lots of friendly regulars! :)

My time is pretty much accounted for with PaRF rehearsal weekends through July and the begining of Aug. and then the season opens Aug. 13. From then until the end of Oct. I will be occupied with Faire days. Since we got our cannon late, we will likely be having some Sun. gun rehearsals and if we are not doing that, many Sundays will be craft days to work on projects to the upcoming season. This past Sun. was one such day, I made a baldric and watched Sarge and Cap. strap out some armor.

I added the little bits of info I was given/found to a page on my site, but haven't got around to setting up the mirror copy on the Order website. I think I should take care of that soon so we'll all have it as a reference.

Once my CAM boot can go off, I'll be up for it! (That'll be early August)

I'll very likely be going to MDRF in late august / early sept. Possibly a few times.

As will I!  At least twice if not more...I kind of want to make it up to the PARF one though...I've never been and they allow weapons which makes it better in my book already.
