check out the mail on the chausis!

Looks like hollywood "knitted" maille, not very durable or battle worthy but very comfortable! ;)
Excellent find Sir Wolf! :)

Saw the thread on AA. I'd love to be there while the guy gets to work on that armor, even if it isn't "real" armor. Pretty cool that it's made of aluminum and the whole suit is 25 lbs .. that'd be more than reasonable as all-day wear. :)

I know, it makes me envious. I'd love to get a whole kit made in titanium. Strong AND light. :)

it just goes to show how much holiweird is crap nowadays. back in the day they actually did their researching jobs for the parts and for the props. now they just cg everything and wing it.

So is that an accurate representation of what chausses should look like? I got the impression that it was like leather pants with mail sewn on the parts left exposed by the plate legs.

ehhhhhh hehehe i'm not 100% sure about mail chausis like that. but still its awesome idea. most stuff i've seen has a mail skirt but the inner thighs are bare do to rubbing while on horseback. i've gotta do some more checking before i can give a complete answer

Mail skirt makes sense...it wouldn't have been very comfortable for the horse to have maille rubbing his sides clean during the march to battle! Of course...they would've been mantled and armored themselves so what do I know.
