Another October nuptials! :)
Heh, my folks were married in October, too. Must be a good month. ;)

Excellent! Congrats on the marriage and the photos! May your marriage be filled with armor, swords, polearms, and love. I'm pretty sure that's the right order of precedence. :D

Congrats!

You are a rather large guy aren't you?

You won't mind if, on the field of an interkingdom war, I advise Tribe Rot Mahne to just spear you from a safe distance? ;)

advise away...

it is funny...my last fighter practice it was the first time most of the people there had seen me in live sparring...before Duke Cuan had just been instructing me and letting me swing at him....people kept commenting on my power...and i was like...umm i am not swinging hard...I am concentrating on delivering blows....can't wait to have my body used to swinging properly and see what happens when i transfer real strength...hehe

October is a great month for it. We were married on October 2, 2011.

Great pictures! Congrats, and huzzah!

Yeah I got married on my best man's anniversary. Ironically we did it for the weather to be cooler and it was the hottest weekend in a month! But a little sweat never killed anyone :)

Ha! We had the opposite problem. We wanted mild weather, but it got cold and rainy on our wedding day. But I can't really complain, because the rain stopped about 20 minutes before the (outdoor) ceremony.

Tell that to a guy in 75 pounds of plate armor in 90* temps in the middle of a field. :D

If I ever get married I don't know what I'll do.
I'd probably were my armor for the reception.

My gosh, man! I can't even find a woman that will put up with me for any great length of time, and you found one that let you get married in armor. I'm jelly. Like...a lot. :o

Two questions:

1) What magical island did you find her on?
2) Were there any more women left on said magical island?
;)

Ha! I wish. I was referring to our renn fest performances and the "lovely" temperatures we had. Ever seen a knight in liquid state? :D

I was, sadly, not married in armor, nor did it make an appearance at any time during the wedding. Not even so much as a sword in sight.

I told my girl that if we ever get married I want to do it at an SCA event. Less set up, lots of folks already there, easy to give directions.

I almost convinced the wife to have our wedding at our LARP site...alas the state park was booked on our day.

lol, they're out there! I know it's hard to believe, but it's true.

My lady gave me the option, but with the caveat that she was wearing a more 1950's style dress, so it might look weird. Ultimately we decided on modern dress with swords.

We didn't wear anything fantasy or medieval at our wedding, but to give you some perspective on who I'm married to, the middle tier of our wedding cake had the One Ring inscription go around the whole thing, and our daughter's name is Eowyn.

I always thought a high-quality replica of one of the movie-versions of LotR's elvish rings would make a cool engagement ring. I don't know if it would really be appropriate since I'm not really familiar with modern marriage traditions, but hey...I'm allowed my geeky fantasies, right? ;)

The key is finding a girl who also doesn't care about modern marriage traditions and shares your quirkiness! :)  Then you can use any LOTR ring you want and she'll love it!

Depending on the girl, you never know. I've heard of couples using the LOTR "one ring" as their wedding bands. ;)

It would seem that the search for, not the grail, but instead the maiden! The damsel! Call it another crusade if you must!

Boy, don't I know it. ;)  It took me a while, but it all worked out.

You have one huge advantage in your favor of course. Armor! It's a chick magnet. It's just a matter of taking it to the renfaire often enough. :)
