Title: MASHS Free Play Sunday!
Post by: Sir Brian on 2011-12-08, 17:32:56
MASHS is having a “Free Play” Sunday on December 18th at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center located at 273 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis, Maryland from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM.

The floor fee is just $10.00 and several types of weapons will be there to toy with to include Longsword, small sword, Epee, Saber, perhaps rapier and I will at least bring my sword and buckler. If you don’t have your own safety equipment I’m sure some loaners can be made available. This is a great opportunity to dabble with some weapons you don’t normally get to play with as well as bout some folks you don’t get to see often.  :)

Hmmm...this might be doable for me that weekend...just before the Christmas calamity begins!

Well, 'very' is subjective but I will agree, it would be no hardship to go there.  :)

The last of the ‘Free Play’ Sundays for the year was yesterday and we had a really good turnout. Several epee/rapier/small sword and saber duels coincided with the five longsword combatants. Later we mixed it up with some sword & buckler and Ed used his sweet new Messer and his Rotella to good effect.  :)

Speaking of the Rotella; I offered Ed to have his painted so he won’t have to worry about rust and he asked for it to be painted in blue but blue is SO monochrome I was thinking of jazzing it up a bit with something like this:

What do you all think?  ;D

Sorry I missed it; my right hand is not working properly, but am not sure why.  Anyhow...Cap's shield would be awesome.  Glad to hear you guys had a great time!

As long as he doesn't start throwing it at people like on the commercials, I say go for it. :)

I've always wanted to do that but realized that the spatial dynamic properties of Cap's shield only works in the Marvel Universe.  Oh, I can throw it well enough, but it NEVER comes back.  lol

NOTICE

January 22 will be another MASHS' Free Play Sunday at the Annapolis venue. I actually have an extra fencing mask and some gauntlets if anyone needs to borrow equipment. :)
