I haven't seen it up close so it's hard to say. But from the picture, it looks like it does have the right kind if shaping in the elbow and armpits to allow proper movement. That's a good sign.

I hate buying garments w/out seeing some sort of representation of a person wearing it, they really should do multiple shots or a quick vid.  I know its asking a lot but I hate getting something only to find it won't work due to fitment or quality issues that can't be ascertained until you actually have it.

They sure do!

In which case they are probably better if used as primary armor in of itself and not so much as under maille padding unless it is on those cooler sub-seventy degree days! ;)

At least it is made w/natural fibres...so you won't slowly roast in it.  I bet it'd make wearing armor a good deal more comfortable - for me, at least as I wear minimal padding.

Yep. I'll try and get a decent picture with something to scale it against but basically it's nearly ¼“ thick.  :-\

I wore it last year to MDRF opening weekend and nearly roasted to death even with my ice packs.

Wasn't that the hottest day of the season, Sir Brian?  ;)

Yep. I do believe that whoever decides when kids weekend is at MDRF is a sadist, which I guess would make me some sort of medieval masochist.  :D

Well we do endure some hardship in order to bring it to the masses, but that just makes it more worthwhile, no?
