Title: Stolen Armor
Post by: Sir William on 2011-09-12, 14:06:15
It seems one of the AA members had some armor and a shield go missing after an event.  Found it on ebaY:

Here's the thread where it was first posted and the owner who eventually chimed in.  Nice when a community comes together to right a wrong...one of the AA guys won the bid and is working it so the thief can be caught.

The ebay listings are already taken down. Pretty cool. Where was the thread?

I really hate thieves!  >:(
So much that I believe we should go back to the medieval practice of cutting off the hand of a thief when caught on the first offense, then taking the second hand after the second offense, but that would never happen because all the “thieves” in DC couldn’t sign the bill into law without hands! ;)

Here's the thread...thought I included it already.

Sir Brian, that was well said and I am in full agreement.  :)

Those links must've just been removed...they were there this morning when I checked.  The armor auction concluded over the weekend and one of the AA guys had the winning bid so his plan is to stall the seller...looks like ebaY might've pre-empted that as the shield one, which was due to closeout sometime tomorrow is also gone.

GOOD.

The auctions are back up. Strange. The seller probably complained and got them reinstated or something.

Anyway. I read the thread, and this really makes me mad. I hope the guy gets his stuff back. According to the thread, one of the folks on there won the armor, but the shield auction is still open.

Seconded! It's a bit of a hairy situation due to circumstantials in that thread, but I hope he gets his armor (and other stolen items) back too.

Yea, his situation is one of those 'gotta see to believe' type of things...I don't know him personally but plenty on there seem to so I'm willing to take him at his word.

To have your car repo'd because you couldn't make the note due to not being able to work because of a heart attack...DAMN!  That's just a lot of sh** to go through in such a short amount of time...and then to find out that your stuff was stolen out of your ride either before or after impound...I know he wants to reach out and touch someone real, real bad.

The guy who won it is going to try a stall tactic on the payment...I forget why, but something about tracking him down.
