Correct, you can breathe easy. :)
-
:(
have fun
-
Anyone going any other weekends than the demos?
-
So far I haven't planned anything, but I'm open to suggestions.
-
I was going to give up free-play Sunday @ MASHS next weekend to go. If you go as well Sir Edward how about bringing your WMA mask if you decide to go and we can get a little practice in? ;)
-
I think I could manage that. :)
-
Hey, what day is that? I'd like to go down a few times :)
-
That would be May 20th when I'll be able to make VARF for the first time.
-
I won't be able to make any days until our demo.
-
I might not be able to be there due to work and other things going on but, I wish you all the best of luck in your Demo! ;)
-
Well the reason I missed opening weekend @ VARF was because I went to the Maryland Faerie Festival at their new venue in Darlington Maryland. It was really pretty cool especially since they allow piece-tied weapons. Milady and I also did a photo shoot and I cheated a bit and had some shots done with my blade drawn, which I'll post when the photographer makes them available to us. This is a photo milady took of me that I was considering making my new 'profile' picture. Also take note of the Order garter. ;)
-
Cool, nice picture. How's the new crest working out so far?
-
Very nice pic Sir Brian, I see the garter which makes an excellent kit! ;D

It's working out really good. I took everything apart a couple of weeks ago to repair a broken claw and touch up the paint, I also added another tie down point for the torse. :)
You know that DragonLore place has a plethora of sweet dragons! ;)
Thanks Joshua! :)
-
No problem Sir Brian, when my Kit comes in, that will be the awesome day. ;)
-
Dragonlore has dragon crests?
-
Well actually they are dragon figures/statues with a bit of basic ingenuity can become crests! ;)
-
They have a website? Is it just dragonlore.com? I'll go check them out.
-
Here you go Sir William! ;)

Thank you, Sir Brian! Question- what size is your crest? I have a general idea of how big it should/should not be, but since you've already got one, I hope you do not mind sharing that bit of info.
-
I believe mine was originally 15" -17" tall which I cut down at the back legs so it would portioned to the helm. ;)
-
Damn, that's big! I was thinking 6-8" max! Whew...I'd better rethink this. I wouldn't want the moniker 'Little Dragon' apportioned to myself. lol
-
So who is going to VARF this Sunday and who is going in armor? The weather forecasts mostly cloudy and 80 degrees. ???
-
I'm thinking since the weather will be decent, and it will be a non-demo day for us, this might be a good time to roll out the armor. I'm just trying to decide which armor, since my new stuff is almost useable, and I'd have to do a bit of work on it on Saturday to use it. I could always do plate instead (which I almost never bring to VARF), or just armor light and be comfy.
If I do plate, I need someone to help me gear up. Oh... and what sword to wear? :)
Tough choices.
-
Well keep in mind I was hoping we could do a little sword freeplay in the parking lot or something to knock the rust off my meager skills, otherwise our demonstration duel might be over far to quickly. ;)
-
Sir Edward: if supposed you were going to VARF in plate, why not sport your Talhoffer?

A dress rehearsal? Not a bad idea only don't sweat to much. ;)

Yep, I'll bring my gear. We'll see how exhausted we end up at the faire. :) Maybe armor-light isn't a bad idea.

No scabbard for it yet. I have that on in the queue though.

There is that as well...give us an idea of what we're in for. ;)

Of course soft-kit might be best if we're planning to fight some. I dunno. I certainly have several soft-kit options that I can get in and out of quickly enough.
-
Well I've been thinking about this as well and going to work this morning I get the impression that our region of the country is going to have a mild summer since our spring temperatures have been consistently below average and I'm hopeful we'll have more opportunities than usual to wear our armor.
That said, I think I will wear my soft kit and then change into and out of my fighting gear so this Sunday will then essentially be a full dress rehearsal as Joshua put it for our first demonstration weekend. ;)
-
Sounds good to me. I won't get to wear my new soft kit just yet, since the tunic is still in the exchange process. But I have other soft kit options of course. The important thing is that I'll have the opportunity to wear the new footwear and fight in it a bit (with the proper insoles this time).
-
I won't be able to make it this weekend due to multiple other things (Avengers, tweaking my armor some, hinging/strapping/pointing my sabatons, car maintenance). However, I will see everyone next Friday!
-
That is good Sir James, good luck. ;)
Sounds like a plan Sir Edward and Sir Brian. ;)
-
I can't be there as well. :( Family commitment.

Understandable Sir Nathan, I can say the same with me. Tis chivalrous to be there for family. ;)
