Title: GDFB discontinued items

I got a notice today from CAS/Hanwei that a whole bunch of GDFB stuff is getting discontinued. If you want any of these items, and they're still in stock somewhere (such as KoA), now might be the time.

I attached a list. The "in stock" vs "out of stock" labels are from CAS's supply. Retailers may still have them.

Ok so the all wedge riveted, the dome round aluminum, and the dome flat stainless, are being discontinued. Don't gotta worry to get a haubergeon for viking age reenactment just yet. Still wondering if I should pick up a spare pair of the soldier's shoes as I like the design but I think i'm just going to go after a pair of the viking leathercraft ones after my current ones wear out if ever as they got hobnails. Still wondering if they're going to offer better maille though, doubt they will as I want some of Erik's maille, but hopefully alternatives will be available by then.

bettering things either didnt sell to their specs or they are getting a new supplier in the future due to cost increases

Wow, thats a lot getting discontinued. I hope it gets replaced with something else comparable. GDFB seems to be one of the main mass-produced mail sellers.

Their maille seems very well received within the community (at least by me  :P) it would be a shame to see it go.  :(

The only maille thats being discontinued is the ALL riveted wedge the stainless and the aluminum round ring riveted. I am pretty sure the other maille will still be sold just not those 3 types. Also seems they're discontinuing one of the kettle helms and topfhelms. Time to order one I guess..

Yep, the "code X" refers to the material and whether it's riveted/butted. They're discontinuing something like 3 of the options out 6 - 12 (depending on the type of item).

IceFalcon's gauging interest on wedge-rivet stainless over on AA...but I don't know why I'm bothering, I have a hauberk already and shiny or no, it cost me a pretty enough penny.  I'm gonna do Nathan's way, at least get the measuring done over the weekend.  Anyone got any butted links they wanna get rid of?

Yeah, a whole hauberk worth. It's still in my car, if we both make it to MDRF this sunday (or whenever). ;)
