Wow, that's excellent. He has everything-- the mail leggings and padded chauses, the coat of plates, the crest, lined surcoat, gambeson, shoulder details (I forget what they're called)... Man, I'm envious. :)

They are called Ailettes.

Here is a link to a simular site. I found this one awhile ago when I was researching
my kit...I almost chose the time period when Ailettes was in favor but opted for
a period just past their prime. :-\
Still they are very cool...which I believe would definately put them in YOUR time
frame Sir Edward!
uh oh! More work! ;)
-
Oh no! :)
Well, I'm rescued by the fact that I wear the coif's mantle over the surcoat... but then, maybe not, since I could always wear the surcoat on the outside and pretend the coif is integrated into the hauberk. :)
-
heh i did that with my riveted coif for norman reenacting. i put on the coif first and then the hauberk. twisted my head a lil to give some mobility and NO NOE knew they weren't attached. even the guy standing next to me with his attached coif. see:

and if you want ailettes ed i got some heavy leather already cut to a size that will work :)

That would be cool... damn, more painting to do... :)

Found this site with some really incredible stuff here. Not sure if he’s all leather or steal;
things seem a bit vague on this site. Still great to look at even if it’s pretty much all fantasy
type armor. :-\
