Title: Movie review: Sword of the Valiant:The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084750/

I thought about reading the book (review to come later) so I decided to re watch the movie. boy: let me tell you, John Davis Peter Cushing and Sean Connery must have needed the cash pretty badly to be in this one.

the King I believe was supposed to be an old Arthur, but he is not named so.
Gawain does keep his promise as chivalry does direct him to do so.
Morgan is named as the witch.
As bad as the armour is, the knights do have mail in all the right places, although the upper cannons/rerebracers are on upside down.
the same music over and over and over again will drive you insane.
I guess in this version Gawain is not Arthur's nephew and not a great knight in Arthur's time.

Lol I remember that movie! All I can surmise is that Sean Connery took that part because he lost a bet!  :D

I just love the fact that Sean Connery wears these huge pauldrons with a bare chest. And Gawain's "page boy" haircut looks ridiculous (overly long wig).

Not to mention Miles O'Keefe's truly horrendous acting; I love medieval movies, whether inspired or otherwise, but that one was a real stinker...just about everything in it was bad.  Poor Sean Connery...that is one blight he'd dearly love to be rid of I'm sure.
