Title: Updated photography
Post by: Sir Edward on 2008-03-30, 19:42:15
I finally got around to taking pictures of the last 6 months of weapon acquisitions... I decided to take advantage of the cloudy weather today and take some outdoor shots...

They're all clickable to see the rest of the photos for each one.

Yeah, mine too. :) I'd been debating getting one for years and had just never gotten around to it.

You know, now that its getting warmer, we need to start playing with our javelins more often. Between you, Pamela, David and I, we've got a fair number of them, and those things are FUN.

Absolutely. I need a chance to really figure out how to throw the darn things. I was sorta getting it last time, but only got it right, with it sticking into the pumpkin, a couple of times.

Hey Ed!  You did color the grip on your Meyer!   8)  What method did you end up using?

Those some of them are still in a state of disrepair.  They still need a new shaft.

I painted on the Rit dye... I don't think it really dyed in, but rather mostly dried on the surface. I think most of it will come off very quickly. The cord was repelling it, though it started to go in a little better when I tried mixing it with alcohol.

Yeah, except you can see a light spot that already started to form from leaning it up against things.   :-\

I have some too. It's cord-wrapped, not leather, so I figured I'd try the Rit dye. I may dye it again with the leather dye later.

I used leather dye on my grip, and it worked great. Of course, it took a couple of weeks before it would stop staining my hands whenever I used it.
