-
Well met, Sir Wolf! :D Usually when I log on, I get caught up in the photos of the Albions, etc.
and wonder how I can scam the missus...Lol! ;)
I'm currently debating a 15th century Classic Gothic rig, or a set of border reivers armor of the lowland Scot about 16-1700's....then there's always Hoplite, Corinthian,...ya' just gotta love armor!

Now, Sir Wolf, you've gone and scared them away! Nobody wants to be nibbled on by a middle-aged frumpy hausfrau. :)
Hello Dragonlover and welcome!
-
Many thanks Lady Pamela and Hail and well met to you! :D

Middle-aged hausfrau? OK... but frumpy? No. :)

Hi Wolfikins, it's yer old pal Tanc.
I am back to doing Medieval and want to perfect a good Hussite handgonner impression with an eye to a minor Nobleman taking up the cause of Jan Hus (that is a good 4years way, I think). I have come to love the transitional armour look!
I really like the site so I joined up!
Tanc ;D
P.S. In true Czech form I will be lagering a beer over the winter for use in the Spring!
-
Hail and well met Tancred and welcome to the forum! :)
-
Welcome to the forum!

Welcome from the token chick. :)

Welcome from the token chick. :)
I dunno :-\...with the addition of Tancred that brings the forum membership up to 20...
what exactly is the prescribed "PC" ratio Sir Edward? We may have to start offering
a signing bonus to entice other prospective female members to join so we stay in compliance.
:D
-
I'm not sure what's considered "PC", but as I always say-- the more the merrier! (Or, just "bring on the chicks!") :)
-
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Okay, I'm not sorry at all. :P
-
Yay, a room full of chicks!! :)
-
I like chicks. My uncle used to grow a whole batch in an incubator then keep them for a few days or weeks in a box. I just liked to hold them in my hand. They just felt like a being that you needed to be gentle with, what with their frailty. And I also liked to pour some grains on my palm and let them peck it. It's just one of those "Awww" moments.
-
How many of those "Awwww" moments ended up with a yummy chicken dinner?
-
Hi, hello, huzzah, and good evening!
I'm new here :-[ Just wanted to say "hi"
-
Hi Todd! It's ever so nice to "meet" you.

Hi Todd! It's ever so nice to "meet" you.
Thanks :) and don't let my picture fool you...I am much better looking than Bill Grandy :)
-
All the more reason to welcome you to the forum. ;)
-
Yes, welcome!
-
Sir Ed,
What wonderful bliss is this!?!?!?!!?!?!?! :o :o And you have too many weapons and I think you should give me some ;D

-
You should see his rack now....it has a 30something inch monitor next to it. Many a scheme has been dreamed up for the theft of that monitor...I'm sure most such schemes include copious amounts of weapon theft as well...
-
Yes, the picture is a little out of date now. That 21" CRT + 20" LCD in the photo has been replaced by one ginormous 30" widescreen, as Tristam has mentioned. The rack arrangement has changed slightly since then as well, but not much visually.
Before getting the rack, my computer area started looking like this:

I guess that's better than pistols at ten paces, but less spectacular. :)
-

How about a beauty contest style competition? Instead of the question/answer portion y'all could just go at it with various weapons...in swimsuits. It'd be rough, but I'd volunteer to judge. ;)

Oh, and welcome to T.Rettie! We used to live together. (Or at least in the same apartment complex.) :)

Good Day
My name is Jeff Barnes aka Jedi Medic, Just recently joined your forum and read a few posts but did not see a set welcome thread. So I hope I have not breached protocol by posting here. I am 52 yrs old married with children x 4, I live in Northwest Alabama and my current occupation is Paramedic. My interests are many a varied but include Sci-fi, the paranormal, Medievil history, Knights and Chivalry. Currently my armory consists of exactly 1 sword, a gift from a friend. It is a replica of a Viking age sword. I am also a member of Chivalry Now and am walking the Path to Knighthood there.

Hi Jeff! Welcome!
-
Hello and welcome! Yes, we don't have a formal welcome thread currently. So far we've just been assuming new members will dive in somewhere. :) Maybe we should start one.
I assume the message board didn't give you any trouble signing up. We had some trouble with spammers and I had to muck with the new-member settings a bit.
I'm still looking over the Chivalry-Now site a bit. I'm surprised I never saw it in my previous googling. My google-fu must have been weak at the time. :)
-
Hi
No problems signing up, just a slight delay in recieving a validation email link. Your forum is a little dfferent in format from what I am used to but I'll manage. Chivalry Now goes in more for the deeper pesonal aspects more than the outer ones. I believe Sir Dean an Companion Goodwin may be he only ones with the Armor and equipment of Knightly ways. I will post as my time allows, between 2 jobs and a family time is limited.
Thanks for the Welcome.
Jeff

Hail and well met Jeff!

Yeah, we're using SMF for the forum software. PHPbb seems to be a lot more common. I tried both, and found SMF to be more of a clean installation process and a nicely thought out administration system.
-
Hi. I'm one of the occasional lurkers that you've seen go by. Just hadn't gotten around to signing up until now...
I'm the Sir Ed with The Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux that Sir Edward mentioned meeting at Raleigh Ren Faire last spring.

Greetings, and welcome to the forum!
-
Hail and well met, Sir Ed of the Fiat Lux!!
-
Heh, I really need to get used to having more Eds around. On myArmoury.com, there's another "Ed T" who posts from time to time... how confusing! :)
-
Hail and well met Jedi Medic and Hail and well met Sir Ed of the Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux! I complement you and your peers of the Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux for your wonderful charitable work which is also very educational and entertaining for so many folks!
Huzzah for Fiat Lux! ;D

Hi,
I am a new member of this forum, so thought I would introduce myself. I will be trawling my way through the forum, to get a feel of what it`s all about, over the next few weeks. I must say I like what I see so far ;)
Greetings to you all and I hope to chat to some of you sooner rather than later.
:)

Welcome, Sir Gerard!

Welcome to the forum, Sir Gerard!
-
hey look a new guy! lets embarrass him! jk, welcome!
-
Many thanks dear sirs ( and lady ) for your warm welcome. ;D
-
Here's another Fiatian chiming in! It's amazing and humbling to see and hear what people say about your organization when you aren't around. Though it may be a bit late (about a year now! :-[) thanks for the words of praise! It'll be interesting to take a look through everything here and share some insight of my own.
-
Welcome to the forum! Yes, from what little exposure I have with your group (really only meeting a few of you down at NCRF last year), I have a lot of respect for what you're doing.
-
Hail and well met Sir James! Welcome to the forum and I also wish to extend my most sincere admiration for your group!
How does your group like the faire's new location? I see lots of potential and room for the fair to grow
there. :)
-
Sadly, I wasn't able to come this year, though I heard last weekend was great! Most of my experience with faires has been with the CRF, which is pretty big, but there's just something about the event-goers in Raleigh that make it different in a very positive way. Either way, the Raleigh Chapter raised a record amount of money - I guess the numbers speak for themselves!
-
Welcome Sir James! Very glad indeed to hear that the numbers were good for the
turnout of the faire! :)
