Saw this mentioned on another forum:

I like how they've come up with a modern version of chivalry that fits today's society.

I don't know if I necessarily agree with #9- after all, isn't renown what we're after as knights? ;)
All in all, very admirable, I can dig it, especially the last one if I may:
A true Knight must so order his life that by his contribution the people of the world may hope to live together in greater Peace And Tolerance.

Without chivalry, it's all just dress-up.

Too true. But it's really COOL dress-up. Dress-up for guys. :)

Agreed; seeing as we all adhere to our own code of chivalry, it certainly applies to the likes of us I'd think. Its dressup for the playtrons, part of life for us.

Totally agree with you there, Sir Edward. It was the kits that got me interested in this in the first place. I was merely pointing out the kit does not necessarily make the knight ;)

Very true on both accounts! Yet the old adage of “The clothes makes the man” comes to mind, for which I’ve always construed as the garnish sometimes compelling enough to bring out what is the innermost truth. ;)

Yep, I'm in full agreement! In fact, it's my wish that everyone who gets into kitting up as a knight should take it seriously enough to be honorable men. It would be very disappointing to hear of a kid going to the renfaire, hoping to meet a knight, only to be shrugged off by some inconsiderate jerk in fine armor. I'd want that fellow to remove his armor so I could give him a proper thrashing. :)

NO! Let him leave the armor on! After all Sir Edward that would be a waste of the perfect opportunity to try out a nice war hammer, mace or that particularly nasty Morningstar you have! ;)

Or, Sir BlackWolf's 'lil bit o'sunshine'! I hate jerks, even when I'm being one!

That's true, I'm forgetting that in the armor, you can beat someone senseless and not leave as many marks, other than the armor bites. :)
-
Well, in this day and age, I would think that to be sufficient warning...so no lasting injuries, but a lot to think about in terms of pain- bruises, armor bites, general soreness from hitting the ground backside first?
Hey, if we see one of those recalcitrant knights, I'm all for stripping him down to his undergarments and beating him with the flats of our blades right out of the town gates. lol

Wearing armour is a little like wearing a Santa suit; There's just some things you CAN'T do in them.
-
At the very least, should not...as we all know, the base and cowardly knight was not just a literary construct. lol
