Earlier this month the local television show Virginia Time Travel contacted us at the Virginia Academy of Fencing to do an episode on the historical swordfighting techniques of medieval and Renaissance Europe. David Rowe and I went out to demonstrate for them.
It was a fun (if rushed) experience, where we showed up, did a bunch of techniques with different weapons, and did an interview. The official airing will not be until January, but they've just put up a lower quality version on YouTube.
Episode 67 YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8q0vxMMmGw#)
They were so excited by the episode that they were talking about the possibility of inviting us back to do an armored combat episode. So be sure to "like" the YouTube listing so as to encourage them to do so. :)

That's freaking awesome! I can't wait to get home from work so I can watch the video! :)

Bill, this is awesome! Watching the YT clip now...now I can point to the TV and say "I am gonna learn how to fight with swords from that guy! ;)
That's interesting, I've never heard of the show.

Hey congrats! The show actually was pretty good. You're a naturally good speaker, and presented it very well. Awesome.

I was going to say the same thing...Bill's quite loquacious, it made for easy listening- very cool!

Brilliant !!
What a fantastic and informative interview.
Bill, you must be one of the most enthusiastic ambassadors for the W.M.A. scene I`ve heared for a while.
Well done.

wow your famous can i have your autograph?

Thanks, guys!
It was a fun project to do, but it was very rushed, and we had very little space to work in. You can't really tell watching, but the set was very tiny, and David and I were terrified of destroying one of the expensive cameras! So if there's a next time, we know:
-practice in a very small space
-don't wear all black!
-
-don't wear all black!
Yeah that was the only critique I could think of because I couldn't really see the moves you two were making. - Take every learning opportunity you can get is what I'm thinking! ;)

I noticed that they blasted out the contrast a bit. I'm guessing this was done intentionally so that all the dark areas would just be black, and you wouldn't see the darker off-stage areas. But that had the added "benefit" of making you guys disappear into the shadows, except for the more reflective bits.

Like medieval ninjas, no? LOL

No in this case it is more of a Liechten-ninja ;D

There you go, I stand corrected!

Congratulations Bill. I still haven't had time to check the video, hopefully soon.
