How well do you think the Armstreet helms will size down slightly? I think I last measured around 22.5". I'm assuming if it's sized to 23" it's probably OK.

My head is also 22.5 and the padding sits snug on my head.

+1 on the good stuff that is Windrose. I'm rehabbing my helm from them this week.

Yes, that thing is a tank, and a pretty tank at that. That's why I want to sell it, it's far too nice to sit in an attic not being used.

It is beautiful...I am pretty deadset on a Great Helm if not I would want to jump all over that 2nd one...alas first things first...a gambeson...I think I have decided to follow in your footsteps Ian and make my own...I own a machine and am smart...how hard can it be? :P

It's not nearly as bad as it seems. The pattern I used made it very simple to do, even with a very complex garment like the one I did.

**I made a mistake on the sizing of the Norman Conical**
I ripped the padding out and it's marked by Windrose as a small, not a medium. I measure the internal circumference at the brow as 27'' with NO padding. So however that translates to a head size once padding is added is what you'd be working with.

Armstreet has such a great selection.
