Title: Here Come The Holidays
Post by: Sir Nate on 2013-11-15, 23:29:17
Well, as we all know it is almost that time of year again- Thanks giving(united states holiday) Is already 2 weeks aways, Hanuaka will also be starting around the same time as thanksgiving, and then It will be Christmas and New years.

How are you going to spend the holidays?
I know im going to need to save to buy gifts.

I haven't thought too far beyond Thanksgiving yet. The fall is always a whirlwind for us over here. :)

I think it is hectic for most people, I don't even know what I'm doing for thanksgiving.

I spend my holidays the same way I spend every day, Pinky.... trying to take over the world! Erm...I mean, I have no plans for the holidays. I’ll probably go see The Hobbit with my folks on Christmas Day like we did last year, but otherwise it’s just another day.

Visiting my girlfriends family one day, my dad the next for thanksgiving. I have no idea what we're doing for hannukah & x-mas. But we are ignoring my mom & step-dad.

Wife's brother is working and her father wants us over on her birthday instead of thanksgiving...a bit of drama but probably will end up cooking some stuff for the mother in law and the wife and then going to her dad's on the 30th.

Well I have to work the Saturday after Thanksgiving but ‘Black Friday’
Will be similar to Sir James’ day.   ;)

Polishing my plate pieces of armor
De-rusting my mail - ditto
Replacing leather straps - ditto
Braiding new points – might have to do this at Christmas time.
Washing Replacing crappy cloth buttons for pewter ones on my gambeson.
Sharpening my sword – Mine’s still good and sharp, but I ordered some guards and a grip to rebuild an antique heirloom ‘civil war era small sword’ that has come to me via my father in-law.  :)

Yes Happy day of birth! Blah! Richard ain't no Scotsman! Like that old scotsman in Braveheart! He got an arrow pulled right out of, drank some whisky, and felt hot iron stabbed into the would! And lived! Also got his hand chopped off. And lived. But later died at the end of the film when he felt cold steel.

Braveheart is hisotrically unnacurate.
William wallace didn't fart lightning bolts in it. Mistake number 1.

The weather has been completely schizophrenic over here. About three days ago, we had a few inches of snow on the ground. Then it literally melted overnight. Sure, it left everything wet and muddy, but the first official day of winter was marked by some rather nice weather. Frankly...I'm okay with this. 8)

I've heard there's something special under the tree tomorrow. I'll post pics when I can. :D

I took my armor to my parents house to take pics of myself with a santa hat and sword, and also laying under the tree with a big red bow on. I forgot my boots, which, okay, I can deal with, kinda. I forgot my gauntlets too. I got frustrated and shrugged out of my arming clothes. I'll take the missing bits and get some pics on Monday after work; parents said they'll still have the tree up.

Ironically, I got a box from the Ukraine today. USPS still says "Origin post is preparing shipment". So huzzah for armor! :D

(Yes, pics will be provided tonight - have to get some laces & clips on the stand first)

my wife is the best! From Allan at merc tailors!

Congrats!

Oh, and at some point, you need to take some pictures towering over the godzilla figures, making menacing gestures towards them.
