Here's a link I found on the PaRenFaire.net site. Interesting article claiming researchers and archeologists have found Arthur's round table.

Wow! If you read the blogs for that one, it opened up a whole can of worms! ;)

ya i read that too. hmm

I still take it with a grain of salt. It's possible that some actual historical accounts influenced the Arthurian stories, but I'm inclined to believe they're still primarily stories.

I live 10 mins away from Chester and the roman amphitheater is just that, and a small one too lol :P
Chester has such an abundance of roman and medieval history that they really don`t need to fabricate more legends to attract MOPS ::)

Yeah, I thought it was an interesting article, but didn't really give it a whole lot of serious consideration. I think the Arthurian legends have some historical basis, but are probably a hashing of events from several different people's lives and possibly even time periods that have been woven together to teach people lessons and provide a moral compass.

Being a direct descendant of ole Pendragon himself (at least in spirit) I can assure you that table never actually existed; it was whatever table they took it upon themselves to gather round in any given moment. lol
