Other projects this past summer
Silvanus:
A while ago I was looking for a better and more historically accurate sword belt/suspension system. Sir Wolf was kind enough to provide some drawings he found, and I based my design on those. There were a couple on the market that fit the bill, but I am cheap, and want things the way I want them.
I modified the scabbard and found some good leather for the belt.
I did the same thing for the "fake" sword and scabbard I use for the Faire.
Sir Patrick:
Nice work! I've always felt if one has the talent and inclination to make parts of their kit, that just adds to the fun! So don't say you're being cheap, you're just getting a jump on saving for a part of your kit you can't do on your own. ;)
Sir Wolf:
wow great job. that totally looks like it should. great job again man!
its the little details that make ones kit grand isn't it?
Sir Edward:
Wow, awesome job! That looks great! Yeah, I wouldn't call it cheaping out. It's customizing :)
Silvanus:
Thanks, guys!
Sir Wolf :D you were the one who provided the design a while back.
The X-Acto knife work on the scabbard was terrifying. One slip and that would have been disastrous. The only scabbard I have for my Gen2 Crusader - my first (and still my favorite "serious") sword. I was happy to find that the custom scabbard for the ATrim Crusader Sword I bought over the summer has the similar design.
