MDRF 2010
« on: 2010-08-25, 20:43:59 »

Well, MDRF is opening this weekend. Who's making it out this week? So far the weather report is sunny and low-mid 80's. It's actually possible to do armor this weekend.

I'm tempted to try out the new Elizabethan nobles on opening day. Maybe I'll get the armor out on Sunday.

Well I have to work on opening day but I'll definately be in armor on Sunday...
Actually I may also make opening day after I get off from work, depends on when I can
get away. :-\

Awesome, at least you don't have to miss the whole weekend!

So far it is looking like I'll do nobles on Saturday and armor on Sunday.

We had a great opening weekend! Here's a photo of my lovely lady and myself, in some of our nobles (mine being completely new this weekend):

We handed out several business cards for the forum to armored folks, and I also ran into Sylvanus at the end of the day on Sunday. As it turns out, Sunday was brutal weather for wearing armor, but Sir Brian and I did anyway, and we persevered!

I know it's still early, but wow, the weather report is predicting 77 degrees this coming Saturday. Wow, that would totally be a great armor day!

hmmm, hopefully the hurricane won't dump to much water on us! If the rain holds off then I'm game
for armor on Saturday since I don't have to work! :)

Looks like I'll be down for the M'Crack gathering Sat. so I'm going to try to wear the Brig. I haven't worn it all season because of the new light kit I made and I'll be house sitting for my parents, so I don't know if things will work out for it or not.

Excellent! I'll see you there. The weather on both Saturday and Sunday looks great for armor with Saturday being a bit breezy. So unless a drastic change in weather occurs I will definately be wearing armor!  :)

So far I'm thinking full armor on Saturday, and maybe light armor or something else on Sunday. Still keeping an eye on that weather report though!

Not too bad! It was still warm enough to sweat a bit, but since it was so dry out, the moisture would just evaporate out of you. So even though it was very comfortable, it was still easy to get dehydrated and tired out. All around a great weekend for sure!

This year they have a show at noon at the jousting arena called "Knight School". It might be worth a look.

I was house and dog sitting all weekend so I had not internet access until now. It was great seeing Sir Edward and Sir Brian on Sat. at MdRF. I missed the Knight School, but I did get to see one of the jousts. I also got to visit with Norm over in the living history area. While I was there a couple people stopped by and had some really interesting questions and discussions with us. I encountered a few people who were really interested in learning about my armor and persona while on the way out too. All in all it was a very nice day. I'm going to try to make it back down sometime later this season.
