$10 - $15 dollar helm stands.
Sir Brian:
Thought I'd share what I use for helm stands. The material costs
about $10 ~ $15 dollars and about 5 minutes to make.
Material consists of a wood plaque from Michaels or Walmart,
Table legs and some type of topper from Home Depot. Drill a
hole into the plaque a little smaller than the table leg bolt and
into the top of the table leg.
You can use white glue if you wish but I never needed to.
* You of course can stain or paint to your own tastes. *
Here is the results:
I use the taller one for my new great helm to allow the mantle and torse
to hang freely. ;D
Sir Edward:
Hey, that's a great idea! I bought a helmet stand many years ago, and it's actually very simplistic in construction (similar in concept but hardly anything interesting in terms of the contours of the wood). With some stain and polyurethane or something, yours would be far superior. I might have to build a few of these.
Das Bill:
Nice.
You know what also works well, if you can find them, are large candlestick holders from thrift stores. Sometimes they're only a dollar or two, and I've seen a number that are large enough for a helmet.

Wow, there's more head protection there than a construction site!
