I have a medieval riddle
« on: 2013-08-21, 23:01:41 »
a moth ate a word. to me it seemed, a marvelous thing when I learned the wonder that a worm had swallowed, in darkness stolen, the song of man, his glorious sayings, a great man's strength, and the thieving guest, was no whit the wiser for the words it ate.

2 of more to come in a series, written by me.

#1)
Strong and Beautiful,
Beloved by All.
I fear no Object,
Yet for that which is Simple.
Red and Green, given by tricksters Hand,
Should hold Consternation.
Till the next Yggdrasil Grows.
Who Am I?

#2)
Brave and True.
My courage Unquestioned.
Forever I laid down my Shield.
Sacrificing the side of my Sword.
That tricksters Ken,
Could have Surety.
Who am I?
Fall down seven, get up eight.

I am Green as grass in summer, Red as roses in Fall, dead on the ground in winter, yet reborn again in spring.
What am I?
This is an easy one.

I am cold as the grave, As feared as the plague, I reap the dreams of soldiers, and am the bane of all men.

I take the past, you always remember me, you cannot stop me, for I exist not, the more you age the more I grow, yet you always remember who I am.

Well it's not death, because it's neither the bane of all men nor reaps the dreams of soldiers. So "cruelty"?

I take the past, you always remember me, you cannot stop me, for I exist not, the more you age the more I grow, yet you always remember who I am.
What am I?

Regret or Forgetfulness.

yes forgetfulness, and it is death, but cruelty works better.

Nope. In the Hot & Cold game a "shield" is Glacially Cold.
