http://www.chivalrybookshelf.com/titles/Kal/Kal.htm

Available only through Chivalry Bookshelf, assembled and translated by Christian Tobler, this is a full-size and full-color representation of Paulus Kal's "fechtbuch" (fencing manual), a period manuscript that pictorially demonstrates the the fighting techniques. This large coffee-table book is beautifully bound and produced, contains a translation of the accompanying text and has a detailed introduction.

This manuscript dates from 15th Century Germany, and is particularly interesting due to the available detail of the clothing and armor depicted in the imagery, as well as the combat methods shown.

It's expensive, yes, but also a limited edition. I highly recommend it!

Now if only I can get my copy autographed. :)

It is absolutely worth it.  Simply compare it to the price of a textbook and then realize that this is so much more.  It's the closest I'll ever come to having a medieval manuscript in my home and with Mr. Tobler's commentary it's as if Paulus Kal was whispering over my shoulder.

Mine is signed.   :P
