Albions in stock on KoA
Lord Dane:
--- Quote from: Sir Ulrich on 2013-06-17, 12:46:45 ---The squire was the one I originally wanted actually, till I realized it was too late for my period I am reenacting (late 1200s early 1300s).

I was thinking of buying it but ... this one screams Sir Ulrich or Silvanus. Seeing you wanted an Albion. This one IS 13th century.

Ian:
Just so you realize, that's not an Albion Squire. The Albion Squire is one of their next gen line Type XVI single handed offerings:
http://www.albion-swords.com/swords/albion/nextgen/sword-medieval-squire-xvi.htm
And that sword retails for $1,016. There's one in stock at KoA right now for $991 with a dark brown grip here:

The Ebay sword is really an Albion Squire Line "13th Century Knightly" which is their more affordable line of swords here:

That sword brand new is $473. The grip job and simple leather scabbard it comes with in my opinion don't justify the added cost for a used sword. You could get a brand new one with a leather scabbard for about the same amount of money.
Sir William:
The 13th C Knightly from Albion's Squire Line of swords is as sweet handling as you'll likely find for a singlehand sword from pretty much any pricepoint. The only difference between it and the Next Gen line Knight is a higher refinement of parts (crossguard, pommel/rivet block) and higher level of finish to the entire sword. This sword is more utilitarian in design, what you'd expect to see on the belt of a man-at-arms or maybe a newly belted knight. A very solid sword, I had one myself.
As Sir Ian said, however, this man is asking for more than the usual- I think I sold mine for at or around $300. The grip upgrade alone would probably run about $70 - even brand new you'd only pay $543 ($473 for the sword, $70 for the grip work) - so this isn't a good deal. The simple leather scabbard is just that- I doubt it was made for the sword, just thrown in as a blade protector.
Let us not forget, as far as the seller knows, this is the only SL Knightly with this specific grip customization on the planet. My thinking is, this guy doesn't get out much. lol
Lord Dane:
I did see that too, Ian. Just wanted some feedback to confirm what I thought already. I like that Templar one with the light brown handle myself on KoA.
Ian:
Hospitaller with a black grip in stock!! This is a really nice sword for a 12th C crusader impression. Very simple, but I think it's beauty is in its subtlety.

There's also an oxblood Talhoffer in stock!
