Well, back at home safe and sound. The past week-end was exhausting, trying at times, and a heck of a lot of fun!!
Would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Sir Brian and his Lady, Rose, the most adorable fairie
we know!!!
Glad I finally got a chance to meet Sir Ed, and wish you could have made it this week-end Sir Wolf.
Have to agree with Sir Brian, Ed's heater turned out excellent! Vivat, Sir Ed!

Ah we had a wonderful time as well and are so glad you all came up and had
a wonderful time...despite those drunken hooligans and an occasional indigenous
village idiot.  ;)

My love and I are looking forward to getting together with you both again real
soon! CRF cannot arrive soon enough!  ;D

btw, SWEET! I take that to mean there is a possibility of it being delivered before the CRF ends? :)

Yes, a most excellent time! It was great to finally get to meet you (my brain must be stuck, I actually typed "thou" instead of "you" at first).

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the results on my shield!

A great weekend indeed. I just wish the weather on Saturday had been more like the rest of the weekend. It was ridiculously humid. It was the amazon rain forest of renfaires.

Oh, and by the way, that Samurai kit is absolutely amazing. Kat's brother-in-law probably would have loved to see that (I hope he got a look at it sometime during the day, I'll have to ask him). Well done, and Huzzah!

Many thanks Sir Edward!
I can honestly say I wish I had put the Yoroi together myself, but it was actually purchased from a firm in Tokyo. The flexibility and the fact it breathes quite well saved the day on Sunday!
No worries Sir Brian, we had a GREAT time and are looking forward to hosting you and your Lady for Charlotte!! ;D ;D ;D

Hail and Well Met!

It was a great pleasure to meet the three of you (Sir Brian, Sir Ed, and the Samurai whose name I have just forgotten, my apologies) this past weekend at MDRF.  Thank you Sir Brian for informing me of this site, I shall check back often.  I hope to see all of you again when I return to MDRF for it's final weekend in October and when you make you way up to PARF (my home faire) later this season.  Just so you can put a face (or garb) to who I am since I have not a picture yet, I was wearing the Green Nobles garb on Sun., I am Sir Matthew by name.

Hail, and welcome to the forum!

We'll be up at PARF later this month. I don't know if I'll make it up there again later in the season.

I am assuming you are refering to the weekend of Oct. 11/12, as Sept. 11/12 is a Thurs. and Fri.  If indeed that be the case, I shall be there both days as well and in full kit.  I generally arrive just before noon and wonder the shire for most of the day.  I look forward to seeing you at my home Faire!

From the the WTOP website:

2 bitten by snake at Md. Renaissance Festival
October 6, 2008 - 4:32am
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - An Anne Arundel County Fire official says a couple was bitten by a snake at the Renaissance Festival.

It happened around 6 p.m. Sunday at the Crownsville Fairgrounds in the 1800 block of Crownsville Road near Annapolis.

Division Chief Michael Cox says a woman in her 20s picked up the wild snake and was taunting her boyfriend with it when both of them were bitten.

Cox says paramedics met the couple at the first aid station at the festival and took them to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis with minor injuries. He did not know what kind of snake had bitten the couple.

Wow, hadn't heard about that one.

I did hear about the kid who had to be airlifted out because he impaled his eye on one of the sticks from the "Steak on a Stake" booth.
