ok what we did.

Added arming points to the tops of the legs.
Reshaped pauldrons, trimmed edges near neck area.
Changed plackart location adding a sliding center rivet.
Added second fauld.
Added tassets.

It's quite a bit of improvement. I'll post some more pics later when I get a chance to pull them from the camera.

The repositioning of the breastplate over the plackart comes with the caveat that the breastplate pushes up higher towards my face when I sit down now, and probably runs a little longer over the front of the torso, but it's positioned to fit much more appropriately and follow more natural contour over the body.

We pointed the legs by attaching a leather piece that points to the arming doublet. After removing the belt straps from them, we had the leather and buckles left over to use for attaching the tassets. The straps had to be pulled very tight to get the tassets to sit high enough, so we may want to restrap them eventually. The second fauld lame articulates nicely, allowing me to sit and bend over without resistance. The original lame doesn't move as much.

The shots Chuck posted show one of the positions we tried with the pauldrons (outside the shoulder straps). We have a few shots where we sat them higher, which looks better, but they were also impacting my neck. So we trimmed the forward corners off, so that they just stop at my neck instead of gouging it. Having a mail standard here probably helps (dang, Historic Enterprises is out of stock on these). Chuck also bent the back end of the pauldrons around a little so they don't stick straight off my back, and instead contour around a little better.

So it's looking and feeling a bit better. I still need to either add points on the arming doublet for the arms in the right place, or use a leather strap to point it to the existing ones further up the shoulder. Eventually I'll look into greaves, and I still need a good set of gauntlets.

I just ordered a new mail fauld and voiders from HE, though as I said the standards are out of stock... I'll add that too when I get the chance.

hahaha u just HAD to order those didn't u ;)  (we talked about them all weekend long)  there are some other areas that i would like to improve on Ed's kit but that being said its Ed's kit hehehhe. some areas we found that we could only help some of the problems without diving into a complete overhaul of certain areas that the maker did not do. hehehe as i told him I'm only a magician, not a miracle worker. i had a great time armouring and am so glad Ed was happy with the improvements.  who knows what lies next... ;)

Yes, and thanks again for all the help! It's a lot more than I thought we'd even attempt. And yep, I couldn't resist the mail pieces. :)

Here are a few more pics, from before we added the tassets, showing the pointing of the legs, and the pauldrons mounted higher (highest I've ever had them, I think). This is also after adjusting the breast+plackart. Chuck's mail standard is standing in, since I don't have one yet.
