Fun with leatherwork, Testing Ideas

(1/3) > >>

Sir Rodney:
I’ve recently completed a few minor leather working projects that were used to test some stitching, dying, stamping and tooling ideas floating in my head.  The eventual goal is to build a sheath worthy of my Michael Pikula seax this summer / fall.

The first is an essential item for any war camp; a tooled leather can cozy for the 16 oz. units of liquid rehydration.  ;)

The second is an SCA legal rondel dagger and tooled sheath.  The idea was to have a decent looking backup weapon for fighting polearm that doesn’t scream anachronism from 10 feet.

Sir Patrick:
Nice work, Lord Rodney!

Sir Wolf:
very nice indeed!

next he'll be wanting to be knighted in his new leather fantasy bra and armour he's making ;) hehehheh

Shhhhhhhh.  Not so loud..

Sir Matthew:
That's very cool. I recently made a baldric and have another slated to be made. Leather is not as easy to work with as you might think. Not really hard, it's time consuming.
