You know it's interesting. I wash my arming shirts and surcoats pretty frequently, but some of the others I don't. My gambeson that I use for HEMA hasn't been washed yet. It's only now getting to the point where I think it may need it, and I've been using it for years. My arming cotte for my plate armor can't be washed with the voiders on. So far it's doing OK too. Some things get filthy, and others just get wet with sweat and then dry out without getting stinky. Or they just air-out well. Strange.

Well I don't know about you lads, but after a few forays my arming clothes start to get a little gamey, at least to me. Nothing like a whiff of old sweat to start the day, no?
That being said, I go a few times between washings. The clothes, I mean. lol
