FS: GDFB Sugarloaf helm [sold]

<< < (5/6) > >>

Sir William:
We shall have no more mention of parasols, Sir Brian- I can keep your secret but not if you tell it yourself!  LOL

As for the helm, I thought he was going to fix it then...just as well; something to work on/look forward to, eh?

Sir Brian:
Well I took off from work early so I could catch up on a little bit of sleep and unpack the car and gear. I spent the afternoon washing gambesons and surcoats and cleaning my armor when I discovered the strap on my other splinted cuisse broke so that will have to be another day's project because I spent a couple of hours putting in the spring pins. I decided to go with two, one to keep the visor up of course and another to keep it locked all the way down. I have the second one in but the first is a bit more problematic but nearly done. I'll post some pictures in another new thread if I get it finished in the next week or so. :)

Sir Rodney:
What is this "washing gambesons" you speak of?  I've learned that their defensive qualities increase with the amount of dirt and muck impregnated in the fabric.  Of course the offensive qualities increase as well...

Never stand downwind from a (medieval) army on the march.

Sir Wolf:
ya, i have NEVER washed my arming jackets hehehehe.

Sir Brian:
Methinks you gentlemen have happened upon the true reason for all those ‘swooning’ medieval damsels in distress :D
